NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut women's basketball team defeated Le Moyne College, 62-51, at Moore Field House. With the win, the Owls improved to 7-9 overall and 4-6 in the Northeast 10, while the Dolphins fell to 12-4 overall and 10-3 in the NE10.

Jessica Fressle (Levittown, N.Y.) led the way for Southern with 17 points, 10 rebounds, three steals, and two blocks. Senior
Zoë Amalbert (Nanuet, N.Y.) recorded 12 points, five assists, and two blocks. Senior
Delaney Connors (West Hartford, Conn.) registered seven assists, while sophomore
Katie Williamson (Dublin, Ireland) notched five rebounds and four blocks.

How It Happened
- Le Moyne recorded the first score of the game a minute and a half into play before Southern kick-started their offense with a 10-4 run to close the quarter.
- The Owls carried their momentum into the second quarter with a 6-2 run in the first three minutes. Southern led by as many as 10 points in the frame, but Le Moyne's offense found their footing and went into halftime down by seven points, 28-21.
- Out of the locker room, Jessica Fressle got the Owls rolling with a 6-0 run and expanded their lead to 13 points. Le Moyne's Lytoya Baker responded with a 6-0 run of her own that put them back under a double-digit differential, 36-27 SCSU. Southern narrowly outscored Le Moyne 9-6 in the last half of the frame but led by 12 heading into the last 10 minutes of play.
- The final frame saw the score grow closer. Both teams traded baskets to start the quarter before Le Moyne rattled off a 7-1 run to come within four of Southern's lead. Delaney Connors sunk a crucial three-pointer with just over two minutes to play that put the Owls back up by seven. Le Moyne once again narrowed the deficit with two free throws until Amalbert went a perfect 8-for-8 from the line in the last minute to expand the Owls lead and secure the victory at home.

- Zoë Amalbert recorded her 100th assist of the season in the second quarter. Her five assists against Le Moyne put her at a conference-leading 104 assists on the season.
- Jessica Fressle notched her eighth double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
- Fressle has recorded at least 15 points in 11 of the Owls' 16 games.
- Seven assists are a career-high for Delaney Connors. Heading into the game against Le Moyne her career-high in assists was three against Bentley on Jan. 8.
- Katie Williamson had a career-high four blocks against Le Moyne. Her previous career-high of two was against Saint Rose on Dec. 7, 2021.
- Alexa Kellner notched season-highs in rebounds (7), assists (2), and blocks (1).
- This was the first time the Owls have defeated Le Moyne since Nov. 17, 2018 when they took down the Dolphins, 65-63, at home.
