The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team host Bentley on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022 at James Moore Field House. Bentley is currently ranked No. 21 in the NABC Poll, No. 14 in th D2SIDA poll, and No. 1 in the D2SIDA East Region poll.

SCSU Spectator Policy 
  • Spectator attendance will be limited to two guests per SCSU student-athlete and members of the coaching staff. At this time, no visiting team spectators will be permitted in James Moore Fieldhouse for contests/scrimmages. All attendees must wear a mask regardless of vaccination status at all times indoors and will be asked to adhere to all SCSU Campus COVID guidelines. 
Last Time Out:
Southern defeated American International College, 77-76, at James Moore Field House on Saturday Feb. 5, 2022. Four Owls scored in double figures, with Ulyen Coleman (Brockton, Mass.) and Lyron Bennett (Boston, Mass.) reaching the 20-point mark each. Both players also shot 8-for-14 from the field, with Coleman recording a double-double with 10 rebounds while shooting 3-for-5 from beyond and Bennett making 4-of-6 of his three-pointers and dishing out five assists. C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) scored 17 points and shot 5-for-9 from the field and recorded three steals, while Zack Penn (New Hartford, Conn.) scored 14 points and shot 6-for-8 overall. . 

All-Time Against Bentley: 12-25
Last Time They Met: Southern lost to No. 17/18 Bentley, 84-65, at the Dana Center on Jan. 11, 2020. Taurus Adams II finished with game-highs in points with 21 and rebounds with eight. Khalil Richard finished with 14 points and a game-high seven assists, and Greg Jones finished with 14 points and three steals.

Southern has won seven of their last eight games against Bentley, including four straight at home. Their last loss at James Moore Field House against the Falcons occurred on Jan. 28, 2012. 

Northeast 10 Weekly Honors
Week 10:
  •  C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) was named to the Northeast 10 Weekly Honor Roll after he averaged 16.5 points per game while shooting 52.2 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range in the two road games against Assumption and Pace.
Week 7:
  • Penn was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll he recorded a team-high 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting while also grabbing nine rebounds against Adelphi. His point total and field goals made were also new career-highs for a single game.

Week 6: 
  • Bennett was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll following his performance against Holy Family. He recorded his second double-double of the season and third of his career with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Bennett also dished out six assists while shooting 6-of-10 from the field and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc.

Week 5:
  • Bennett was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll following his performances against Saint Rose and Lincoln. Bennett averaged 12 points, nine assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 steals per game. 
Week 2:
  • Coleman was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll after he scored 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting and 3-of-6 from three-point range on the road against Jefferson. He also recorded a career-high five steals to go along with three rebounds
Week 1
  • Bennett was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll following his performances at the Bridgeport Tournament. Bennett averaged 16 points, 6.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game while going 11-for-17 from the field and 4-for-9 from three-point range. 

NE10 Ranks
  • Bennett is fifth in assists per game at 5.2 and tied for eighth in steals per game at 1.4.
  • Penn is seventh in rebounds per game at 7.5 and tied, along with Jamaal Waters (Hartford, Conn.), for eighth in blocks per game at 1.9.
