The Southern Connecticut State University lacrosse team will play their second consecutive home game at home when they host American International College on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. The Owls will look to begin the season at 3-0 Jess Dow Field for the first time in program history.

Southern defeated Saint Michael's, 11-9, at Jess Dow Field on Saturday, March 26, 2022.
Karlie Rowe (Niantic, Conn.) had a huge performance for the Owls, as she scored a game-high five goals and dished out three assists to tally eight total points in the game, just two shy from tying the single-game program record.
Alexandra Ruel (Ivoryton, Conn.) and
Bayleigh Takacs (Sparta, N.J.) also scored two goals each, while
Jordan Fisher (Lagrangeville, N.Y.) had two assists.
Mia Pulisciano (Cheshire, Conn.) and
Brianna Shaw (Branford, Conn.) also scored one goal each and
Kelly Jagodzinski (Stamford, Conn.) had one assist.
Liney White (Madison, Conn.) and
Sarah Robbins (Farmingdale, N.Y.) caused four turnovers, while Robbins scooped up three ground balls.
Sophie Kurtz (Cheshire, Conn.) recorded nine saves in the game.
Last Time They Met AIC: Southern split the season series against AIC last year, with both teams winning the road games. On April 24, AIC defeated Southern 19-9 at Jess Dow Field. Takacs led Southern with four goals and one assist for a five-point afternoon, while
Hailey Gordon had a career-high four assists. Jagodzisnki scored twice and recorded four draw controls and
Steph Seymour (North Branford, Conn.) added two assists, three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.
Morgan Chase (Windsor, Conn.) had five caused turnovers for the Owls.
In Southern's season opener last year on March 30, the Owls won 12-7 on the road over AIC. Six different players scored goals, led by Rowe,
Jettke Gray (Easton, Conn.), and
Savannah Feinberg (Sound Beach, N.Y.), who all scored three-goals apiece.
Molly Kelly (Colchester, Conn.), Pulisciano and Seymour all scored one goal apiece. Shaw, while Pulisciano had two assists and Seymour added one.
Laura Morton (Somers, Conn.) saved 10 shots in the game.
Milestone Watch
- Rowe has scored 72 career goals and has 85 career points, and has recorded at least one goal or one assist in 35 of her 37 career games.
- Takacs has recorded 41 goals and 29 assists in her career, and has recorded at least one point in 21 consecutive games dating back to April 13, 2019.
- Takacs currently ranks fifth all-time in program history in career assists. She is eight away from tying Kennedy Sherman, who had 35.
NE10/NCAA Ranks
- Sarah Robbins (Farmingdale, N.Y.) ranks third in the NE10 in caused turnovers with 12. Shaw and Liney White (Madison, Conn.) are tied for 10th in the NE10 with nine.
- Sophie Kurtz (Cheshire, Conn.) is sixth in the NE10 in averaged goals allowed at 9.00 and sixth in save percentage at 48.1 percent.
- Southern is seventh nationally in caused turnovers per game at 13.33, and first in the NE10.
Northeast 10 Weekly Honors
Week 2:
- Sophie Kurtz (Cheshire, Conn.) was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll after she allowed just four goals and had six saves during Southern's 14-4 win against Post.
Week 1:
- Takacs was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll after she scored four goals and recorded three assists against Molloy.
