Southern lost to No. 21 New Haven, 12-10, on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Jess Dow Field.
Karlie Rowe (Niantic, Conn.) recorded her 100th career point in the game, becoming the ninth player in program history to reach the mark.
Savannah Feinberg (Sound Beach, N.Y.) led the Owls' offense with three goals, while
Alexandra Ruel (Ivoryton, Conn.) and
Bayleigh Takacs (Sparta, N.J.) added two goals each. Rowe also had a goal and an assist and
Brianna Shaw (Branford, Conn.), and
Kelly Jagodzinski (Stamford, Conn.) scored one goal.
Sarah Robbins (Farmingdale, N.Y.) had three ground balls and three caused turnovers, while Shaw caused four turnovers and
Hannah Holmes (Colchester, Conn.) caused three turnovers.
Jettke Gray (Easton, Conn.) had a game-high six draw controls.
Southern's nine turnovers in the game were a season-low, and their fewest in a game since having five on March 12, 2019, also against New Haven. New Haven's two-point win is their smallest margin of victory over the Owls all-time, and the 12 goals scored by the Chargers is tied for the second fewest they have ever scored against Southern.
Last Time They Met Bentley: Southern and Bentley have not played since April 6, 2019 in Waltham, Mass. a 15-8 Bentley win. Bentley was ranked No. 19 at the time.
Samantha Cozzolino scored three goals, while Rowe scored two and Jagodzinski,
Morgan Chase, and
Steph Seymour scored one each.
This is the first matchup between both programs at Jess Dow Field since April 7, 2018. Benley, ranked No. 22 at the time, won 13-6.

- Rowe has scored 83 career goals and has 101 career points, and has recorded at least one goal or one assist in 39 of her 42 career games. She is the ninth player in program history with at least 100 points, and is three points away from tying Elaina Heiple (104) for eighth.
- Rowe has 11 assists this season, a career-high and tied for 10th most in a single season in program history.
- Takacs has recorded 55 goals, 34 assists, and 89 points in her career, and has recorded at least one point in 26 consecutive games dating back to April 13, 2019.
- Takacs currently ranks fifth all-time in program history in career assists. She is one assist away from tying Kennedy Sherman, who had 35.
- Robbins has caused 21 turnovers this season, the 11th time in program history a player has at least 20 caused turnovers. Shaw is right behind her at 19. Robbins is four away from tying Lynette Martinez, Keal, and Allison Kownacki for the fifth most in a season.
NE10/NCAA Ranks
- Robbins ranks third in the NE10 in caused turnovers with 21, while Shaw ranks third with 19. Robbins is also 22nd nationally in caused turnovers per game at 1.91.
- Southern is one of nine teams in the NE10 with two players with at least 26 goals, as Rowe has 26 goals and Takacs has 28 goals. Adelphi, Assumption, Le Moyne, New Haven, Pace, Saint Anselm, Southern New Hampshire, and Stonehill are the other eight teams.
- Southern is also one of nine teams in the NE10 with two players with at least 36 points, as Rowe has 37 and Takacs has 36. Adelphi, Assumption, Le Moyne, New Haven, Pace, Saint Anselm, Southern New Hampshire, and Stonehill also have two players with at least 36 points.
- Southern is seventh nationally in caused turnovers per game at 12.64, and first in the NE10.
Northeast 10 Weekly Honors
Week 6:
- Takacs was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll after she recorded 11 points, seven goals and four assists during a 1-1 week. Against American International, she scored two goals and handed out two assists. Against Franklin Piece, she recorded a new career-highs in goals with five and dished out two more assists.
- Rileigh Bunton (Pelham, N.H.) was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll after she had 18 saves and allowed just 12 goals in a one-point win against AIC. Bunton had 11 saves in the second quarter alone, and made a key stop in the final seconds to seal the win. Her 18 saves are tied for the second-most in a game by an NE10 player this season.
Week 3:
- Rowe was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll after she scored a season-high five goals and had two assists against Saint Michael's in an 11-9 win.
Week 2:
- Sophie Kurtz (Cheshire, Conn.) was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll after she allowed just four goals and had six saves during Southern's 14-4 win against Post.
Week 1:
- Takacs was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll after she scored four goals and recorded three assists against Molloy.
