Southern Connecticut volleyball will play the second of their three-game road trip when they head to Worcester, Mass. on Wednesday, Sept. 28 for a NE10 showing with Assumption University. The two sides met earlier in the season for a non-conference match with the Owls snagging a 3-1 victory at Pelz Gymnasium.

NE10 Weekly Honors
Both
Kacey Deecher and
Taylor Jones were named to the week five Northeast 10 Weekly Honor Roll. Deecher was solid in a 1-1 week for the Owls. She swung for .339 and averaged 3.0 kills per set and 3.0 digs per set. The junior put up two double-double performances with 10 kills and 13 digs against Bridgeport, before hitting a career-high 14 kills and 11 digs against Le Moyne. She also chipped in four blocks and two service aces. Jones has been steadily increasing her game throughout the first chunk of the season. Last week, she averaged 9.38 assists per set and 3.13 digs per set. Against Bridgeport, she recorded a double-double of 34 assists and 10 digs, while adding one service ace. Against Le Moyne, she registered 41 assists, 15 digs, and career-highs in both blocks and service aces with five apiece.
Last Time Out
The Owls fell in five sets to Le Moyne College on Sept. 24.
Taylor Jones had a solid performance for the Owls with 41 assists, 15 digs, five blocks, five aces, and three kills.
Gabriela Gaibur led all players on the court with 20 kills and tacked on 14 digs and three aces.
Kacey Deecher pitched a 14 kill, 11 dig performance and added three blocks and two service aces.
Aubrey Villena recorded 17 digs as the Libero with two service aces.
Sara Enright was another offensive contributor for the Owls with 10 kills and eight digs on defense.
