KUTZTOWN, Pa. - The Southern Connecticut field hockey team fell to Kutztown, 7-0. With the loss, the Owls fell to 0-2 overall.
Kaitlyn Parent (Glastonbury, Conn.) made 13 saves for the Owls in her first career start.
The Golden Bears got on the scoresheet with just 10 seconds remaining before the half. A shot from the right side of the goal mouth ricocheted and landed at the stick of Kutztown's Casey Lynn Dewald, who put it passed Parent.
Kutztown applied pressure coming out of the half and scored five third-quarter goals.
With two and a half minutes remaining in the game, the Golden Bears added another goal.
