Southern Connecticut women's swimming & diving returns to action from the Winter Break to take on Marist in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 1 p.m.

Owls Notes

Southern is back in action for the first time in over month. The last time the Owls' hit the pool was against Pace on Dec. 9. Southern won that meet, 125-100.
That week also saw the Owls compete against Yale.
For their efforts in their last action before the break, Faith Littleton (Jackson, Mo.) was named the Swimmer of the Week, Paola Castillo (San Diego, Calif.) was named the Rookie of the Week, the 200 Yard Medley Relay team earned Northeast 10 Relay of the Week and Nicholle Denault (West Hartford, Conn.) was named to the Weekly Honor Roll as announced by the NE10 on Dec. 13, 2022.
Arianna Arturi leads the Owls with the top times in three events. Arturi swam a 25.56 in the 50 Free against UConn, a 55.22 in the 100 Free against Central Connecticut and a 2:01.44 in the 200 Free, also against CCSU.
Paola Castillo has the Owls' top 500 Free time with a 5:15.34 against Yale as well as the top 200 Fly time of 2:07.85, also at Yale. Castillo is also second in the 1,000 Free at 10:41.77.
Jasmine Uricchio swam the Owls' top time in the 1,000 Free at 10:40.98 and also has the second-best time in the 500 Free at 5:17.53. In addition, she has the second-best 200 Fly time of 2:09.58.
Hailey Nyquist posted a 1:00.68 in the 100 Back at Yale for Southern's top time in the event, while Ella Marzec's 2:11.08 against Iona is Southern's top 200 Back time.
Lindsay McCawley swam a 2:31.44 in the 200 Breast at Yale for the top time in the event this season. McCawley also has Southern's top 400 IM time of 4:50.24.
Madelyn Dean swam a 2:16.67 in the 200 IM and a 2:40.10 in the 200 Breast for the Owls' second-best time.
