SCSU Women's Swimming & Diving Defeats Adelphi, 132-71

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut women's swimming & diving defeated Adelphi, 132-71, as the Owls swept all 11 swimming events.

Arianna Arturi (Mount Olive, N.J.) was the only swimmer to win multiple individual events after winning the 50 Yard Freestyle and 200 Yard Breaststroke. Faith Littleton (Jackson, Mo.) won the 1,000 Yard Freestyle while Emily Darroch (Oxford, Conn.) won the 100 Yard Freestyle, with both also winning the 40 Yard Freestyle Relay. Paola Castillo (San Diego, Calif.) picked up a win in the 200 Yard Butterfly and was also on the 400 Yard Medley Relay team that won.

Jasmine Uricchio (Enfield, Conn.), Lindsay McCawley (Horseheads, N.Y.), Hannah Nyquist (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Olivia Strelevitz (Gales Ferry, Conn.) also won events. Nicholle Denault (West Hartford, Conn.) finished second in the 1 Meter and 3 Meter Diving events.

400 Yard Medley Relay
The Owls' "B" team of Justice Glasgow (Warren, Mich.), Abbey Piech (Tinley Park, Ill.), Castillo and Kali Dominguez (West Hartford, Conn.) won the 400 Yard Medley Relay with a tie of 4:19.22.

1,000 Yard Freestyle
Southern took the top two spots in the 1,000 Yard Freestyle, led by Littleton in first place at 10:53.30 followed by Brooke Kenney (Glastonbury, Conn.) in second at 10:54.69.

200 Yard Freestyle
Uricchio won the 200 Yard Freestyle event with a time of 2:00.49 while Strelevitz was second at 2:03.22.

50 Yard Freestyle
Arturi led the Owls in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a first-place finish in 25.51. Castillo was second at 26.02 followed by Glasgow in third at 26.97.

200 Yard Individual Medley
McCawley won the 200 Yard IM with a time of 2:19.79 while Hannah Nyquist was second at 2:26.55.

1 Meter Diving
Nicholle Denault finished second in the 1 Meter Diving event with a score of 232.26.

200 Yard Butterfly
The Owls took the top three spots in the 200 Yard Butterfly with Castillo finishing first at 2:09.68, followed by Dominguez at 2:14.92 for second and Hailey Nyquist in third at 2:18.05.

100 Yard Freestyle
Southern took the top three spots in the 100 Yard Freestyle as well, led by Darroch in first at 55.83 followed by Maddie Dean (Lawrence, Ks.) at 57.18 and Anya Celmer (West Haven, Conn.) at 57.75.

200 Yard Backstroke
Hannah Nyquist took the 200 Yard Backstroke as the Owls took the top three spots for the third-straight race with a time of 2:19.40. Piech was second at 2:20.64 followed by McCawley in third at 2:26.60.

500 Yard Freestyle
Strelevitz won the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:24.96, followed by Glasgow in second at 5:45.08.

3 Meter Diving
Denault finished second in the 3 Meter Diving with a score of 209.70.

200 Yard Breaststroke
Arturi won her second race of the afternoon with a time of 2:49.62 in the 200 Yard Breaststroke, followed by Pierce in second place at 2:42.66 and Natalie Weier in third place at 2:45.30.

400 Yard Freestyle Relay
The Owls made it a sweep with a win in their final race of the day as the "A" team of Darroch, Littleton, Dean and Celmer won the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:47.91. The "B" team was second with a time of 3:55.65.
