SCSU Women's Soccer Ties Assumption, 1-1

NEW HAVEN, Conn.—Southern Women's soccer saw a back-and-forth matchup with Assumption end in a 1-1 tie in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup at Jess Dow Field. With the tie, the Owls moved to 4-3-4 and 2-2-3 in NE10 play while Assumption moved to 2-3-5 and 0-3-3 in the NE10.


 
Alexie Rosado scored her third goal of the year for the Owls while Southern Connecticut goalkeeper Abigal Aughe picked up seven saves bringing her season total up to 23.  
 
After a scoreless first half, Assumption started the scoring off with a pass through the middle of the field by Haley Brown to Haliegh Ward at the top of the box who put the ball past Aughe bringing the score to 1-0 with 8:21 to go.
 
With the Owls down one, with 5:44 to go, Riley Ayer threw the ball in to Alexie Rosado on the sideline. Rosado dribbled past three defenders and put the ball past the goalkeeper for a goal to tie the game at 1-1.  
 
Southern is back in action when they face off against Mercy College in a non-conference matchup in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. on Tuesday Oct. 10 at 2 p.m.
