Southern Connecticut Women’s Soccer Lands Five on CSC Academic All-District Team

Southern Connecticut Women's Soccer saw five Owls named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, as announced by CSC this week. Abby Aughe, Nicky Deslauriers, Shelby Green, Olivia Jones, and Aimee Girard were all named to the team. 

Abby Aughe had a phenomenal season in net for the Owls. In 13 starts, she recorded 75 saves, which ranked third in the Northeast 10 Conference. She also ranked second in saves per game at 5.77, and fourth in save percentage at .789. She graduated from SCSU last year with a degree in Nursing and is currently pursuing her master's degree. 

Nicky Deslauriers was the head of Southern's offense in her senior season, leading the team in points with seven. She scored three goals, which was tied for the team lead, and went two for two on penalty shots. She is majoring in Business Management. Deslauriers was also named Academic All-District in 2024. 

Senior Captain Shelby Green was a major part of the Owls's defense in 2025. She ranked second on the team in minutes with 1270, and was one of only two Owls to start every game. She also scored her second career goal in the season finale against Molloy. She will graduate with a major in Elementary Education. 

Olivia Jones, the team's other captain, played a key role in Southern's midfield. She appeared in every game for the Owls, starting 13 times in her second year on the squad after transferring from Franklin Pierce. She will graduate with a degree in Biology. 

Aimee Girard was another important midfielder who earned Academic All-District honors. She made an appearance in all 15 games for Southern, starting all but one of them, and recorded one assist in her senior season. She will graduate with a degree in Nursing.
