SCSU Women's Soccer Falls 3-0 to Saint Rose In The NE10 Quarterfinals

The Owls headed up to Albany, NY for the NE10 quarterfinals against the The College of Saint Rose falling to the Golden Knights 3-0. This loss brings their 2023 season to a close with an overall record of 5-7-5 and a conference record of 3-4-4.

The Owls fell behind early giving up 2 goals in the first 20 minutes of play followed by one additional goal with only minutes left in the first half. Abby Aughe and the Owls defense were able to quiet the #1 seeded Golden Knights in the second half giving up no additional goals, however weren't able to cut down the Saint Rose lead with only four shots on goal. 

Although the Owls were not able to upset the defending champs there were still some stellar individual performances over the 2023 season. Kelsey Burr the Owls leading scorer, scored 12 goals on the year, finishing second in the NE10. Junior goalkeeper Abigail Aughe also finished third in the NE10 with 79 saves on the season, and was dominant in goal for the Owls all year.
