Southern Connecticut baseball will face Queens for a three-game this weekend, with the Owls hosting the Knights on Friday, Mar. 31 at The Ballpark at SCSU in New Haven, Conn. for a single, nine-inning game at 3 p.m. before heading to Flushing, N.Y. for a doubleheader with a 12 p.m. start.

NCBWA East Region Poll
Southern Connecticut was tied for sixth with Goldey-Beacom in the most recent NCBWA East Region Poll, while Queens was ranked eighth. Franklin Pierce led the poll, followed by New Haven, Pace, Southern New Hampshire and Molloy ahead of Southern and Golden-Beacom, who were followed by Queens, Bentley and Jefferson.
 
Scouting The Owls
  • Billy Sullivan currently leads the Owls with a .395 (32-81) batting average while his 32 hits and 30 runs scored lead the team. His 13 walks rank third on the Owls' roster while his .485 on-base percentage ranks second. He also leads Southern with 10 stolen bases.
  • Sullivan saw a streak of 14 consecutive at-bats in which he reached base safely come to an end in the Owls' 15-7 win against Assumption on Wednesday, Mar. 29.
  • Sullivan leads the team with 12 multiple-hit games and has reached base safely in 13 straight.
  • Sullivan is hitting .520 (13-25) over his last six games with nine RBI and 14 runs scored.
  • Connor Goggin is hitting at a .390 clip (30-70) while eleading the team with nine doubles, two triples and also clubbing four home runs.
  • Goggin has also accumulated 22 RBI and 23 runs scored and boasts a team-high .714 slugging percentage and .500 on-base percentage.
  • Colin Mason is hitting .364 (28-77) with 23 RBI and 20 runs scored. The Owls' transfer has hit safely in 10 straight games.
  • Over his last four games, Mason is 11-21 (.524) with seven RBI and six runs scored.
  • Mike Ferrett is riding an 18-game streak in which he has reached base safely, which includes a six-game hitting streak, and is hitting .358 (29-81) for the year. Ferrett has two home runs, seven doubles and 21 RBI.
  • Andrew Eng is hitting .295 (23-78) with a team-leading five home runs and 30 RBI while also totaling seven doubles and 25 runs scored. His 22 walks also lead the Owls.
  • In his last four games, Eng has driven in eight runs and scored nine more while also totaling two home runs and three doubles.
  • Jack Drewry is hitting .308 (20-65) with 16 RBI while Derrick Jagello owns a five-game hitting streak and is batting .297 (22-74) with 17 RBI while his 17 walks are second on the Owls' roster.
  • Chad Fedeli has reached base in 10-straight games and is hitting .352 (6-17) with six runs scored in his last four games.
