FLUSHING, N.Y. – Southern Connecticut State volleyball won 3-1, against Queens College, in a four-set match in Flushing, New York. The Owls came into the match strong with winning the first two sets over the Knights, 25-15 and 27-25. However, Queens closely got the third set win, 25-23, over the Owls. In the fourth set, Southern was able to secure the win, by a score of 25-19. Southern has a 7-5 record on the season.
Sara Enright recorded her fifth double-double of the season. She had 10 kills, 18 digs, three assists, an ace and a block-assist. First-year
Carissa Michel led the team in kills with a career-high of 18, nine digs, two aces and a block-assist against Queens.
Sarah Stark and
Kendall Webber both had seven kills for the match.
Ahunna James also had a career-high day of 16 digs, four kills and three aces.
Taylor Jones and
Lily Miller combined for a total of 44 assists against the Knights.
Southern Connecticut State returns to action at Pelz Gym on Thursday, September 21st at 5:00 pm against Holy Family University.
