Southern Connecticut women's soccer played to a 3-3 tie against Adelphi University Panthers in Garden City, N.Y. The tie moves the Owls to 3-2-3 overall and 1-1-2 in the Northeast-10 Conference while Adelphi goes to 6-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the NE10. The Owls trailed the Panthers 3-1 but a pair of goals in a five minute span tied the game at 3-3 with 20 minutes to play.
Caileigh Driscoll and Taylor Hennig both scored their first goals of the year with Driscoll's goal coming off an assist from sophomore Aimee Girard. Alexie Rosado also made it happen for the Owls with second goal in the 70th minute assisted by Isabella LaPerle. Despite letting up three goals Abigail Aughe still made 10 saves in goal.Â
Although the Owls couldn't get in the win column, they continued to play their opponents tough despite being on the road.Â
The Owls will return home to take on Franklin Pierce University Saturday September 30th 6PM at Jess Dow Field. The game will be the Owls Kick For Nick Night in which SCSU Women's Soccer will collect soccer balls to donate to underprivileged kids. It will also be CJSA Night with youth soccer players on hand to support the Owls.Â
