SCSU Women's Swimming & Diving Takes Tri-Meet Against Saint Rose & Assumption

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut women's swimming & diving defeated Saint Rose, 185-17, and Assumption, 132-89, in a tri-meet at Hutchinson Natatorium.

Molly Kennedy led the Owls for the second-straight meet with wins in the 50 and 500 Yard Freestyle events and was also part of the 400 Medley Relay team that won to open competition. Lindsay McCawley won the 400 IM and finished second in the 200 Breaststroke while Arianna Arturi won the 100 Free and Brooke Keeney took the 200 Backstroke.

400 Yard Medley Relay
The Owls' 400 Medley Relay "A" comprised of Abby Lyons, Allyson Quitos, Julia Pitchell and Molly Kennedy won the first event of the meet with a time of 4:08.89.

1650 Yard Freestyle
Gracie Marsh won the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 19:11.35 while Natalie Weier was second at 19:21.67.

200 Yard Freestyle
Abbey Piech finished second in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:05.15 while Jasmine Uricchio finished third at 2:06.61.

50 Yard Freestyle
Southern took two of the top three spots in the 50 Freestyle event as Kennedy finished second at 25.11 while Justice Glasgow finished third at 25.60.

400 Yard Individual Medley
Southern took the top two spots in the 400 IM as Lindsay McCawley won the event with a time of 4:46.75 and Emma St. Hilaire finished second at 4:49.80.

100 Yard Freestyle
Ariana Arturri won the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 54.57 while Ella Marzec was fourth at 56.86.

200 Yard Backstroke
Brooke Keeney picked up the win in the 200 Backstroke event with a time of 2:16.48.

500 Yard Freestyle
Molly Kennedy picked up her second win of the afternoon after take the 500 Free with a time of 5:33.73 while Julia Pitchell was third at 5:46.72.

200 Yard Breaststroke
Lindsay McCawley finished second in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:30.62.

400 Yard Freestyle Relay
Zoe McNeill, Ella Marzec, Justice Glasgow and Brooke Keeney teamed on the 400 Free Relay to finish second with a time of 3:51.79. The "B" team of Sara Roney, Lindsay McCawley, Allyson Quintos and Kali Dominguez finished third at 4:00.36.

Diving
As the only women's diver at the tri-meet, Nicholle Denault posted a score of 225.00 in the 1 Meter event and 153.85 in the 3 Meter event.

Southern is back in action with its final regular-season competition of the season when it travels to Garden City, N.Y. to take on Adelphi on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 1 p.m
