SCSU Athletics & Recreation Hosts Annual National Girls and Women In Sports Day

Southern Connecticut State University Athletics & Recreation hosted its annual National Girls and Women In Sports Day event, sponsored by Connecticut Orthopaedics, on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2024 at SCSU's James Moore Field House. With close to 100 participants registered, Southern's women's varsity and club teams presented their sports to girls in grades 1-8. Speakers prior to the event included SCSU Interim President Dr. Dwayne Smith, Senior Woman Administrator and Head Field Hockey Coach Kelley Frassinelli as well as Dr. Erin Cravez and Dr. Jenna Bernstein from Connecticut Orthopaedics. 

The grade-school girls enjoyed instruction in gymnatics, soccer, field hockey, volleyball, softball, lacrosse, basketball, rugby, cheerleading and track & field while also enjoying face painting and arts & crafts, provided by Connecticut Orthopaedics.
