SCSU Volleyball Falls To Queens, Post In Season-Opening Tri-Meet

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut volleyball dropped both games of its tri-meet against Queens and Post. Queens took the first game against the Owls, 3-0, before Post followed with the final game of the night, 3-0. Southern finished its season-opening weekend at 0-4.

In the first match of the afternoon, a 3-0 loss to Queens, Raegen Emery led the Owls with six kills with four digs and a service ace. Victoria Pascual totaled four and five digs and Katie Bardak had three kills for the match. Madi Roar had a team-high seven assists while Lily Miller chipped in with six, three digs and an ace. Jalie Miller led the Owls with 10 digs and a team-high three aces, which is also a season-best for Southern to date.

In the second game, Emery led the Owls with a season-high 13 kills and 10 digs for the double-double. Julia Jaworowski had seven kills while Sydney Bennett had five kills and two blocks. Roar led the Owls with 14 assists to go along with seven digs. Lily Miller also had a season-best 14 assists as well as six digs.

Southern is back in action on Sept. 13-14 when it travels to Wilmington, Del. To compete in the Wildcat Regional Invitational. The Owls will face Jefferson on Friday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. and Holy Family at 7 p.m. and wrap up the weekend against host Wilmington on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 11:30 a.m.
