SCSU Women's Indoor Track & Field Sweeps NE10 Weekly Awards for Second Time

Southern Connecticut women's indoor track & field has swept the Northeast 10 weekly awards, doing so for the second time this season. Hannah Caiola was named the NE10 Track Athlete of the Week, Belle Smith was named the NE10 Field Athlete of the Week, and Maya Fisher was named the Rookie of the Week.

Belle Smith continued her dominant season with another personal best mark, this time in the Weight Throw. She won the event at the Dr. Sander Scorcher, throwing 17.82m, which ranks third all-time in program history. The mark also ranks first in the NE10 and 18th in all of Division II. Smith has now won Field Athlete of the Week three times this season.

Hannah Caiola kicked off 2026 with a bang, placing second in the 400m at the Dr. Sander Scorcher with a time of 54.19. That time ranks first in the conference and third in all of Division II. The two-time All-American picks up her first weekly honor of the year after receiving the award four times last season.

After helping SCSU women's cross country to the best season in program history, freshman Maya Fisher showed out in her track debut, placing 20th in the 800m at the Dr, Sander Scorcher. Her time of 2:20.79 ranks second in the NE10, and is in the top-100 times in all of Division II.

Caiola, Smith, Fisher, and the Owls continue their season this weekend at Boston University's John Thomas Terrier Classic and the Harvard Invitational.
