Box Score WALTHAM, Mass. — Frida Norret scored 36 seconds into the match and Makenzi Pastreck made four saves, but Southern Connecticut State's Northeast-10 Conference tournament run ended Sunday when Bentley advanced 5-3 in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 tie through two overtime periods.

The Owls finished the match with a 7-4-7 overall record and 3-3-3 in the NE10. Bentley moved to 13-1-3 and 6-1-2 in the NE10 with the postseason match up officially recorded as a tie.

Norret gave Southern an immediate lead, scoring her seventh goal of the season on an unassisted effort. The goal was Norret's first postseason goal of her career. Bentley responded less than two minutes later, as Kendra Foley scored off an assist from Sydney DeRoche.

Southern held the Falcons scoreless for the remainder of regulation and both 10-minute overtime periods. Pastreck recorded three of her four saves in the second half to help keep the Owls level.

Julia Salley tested Bentley goalkeeper Holly DiPalo in the 63rd minute and again in the second overtime, accounting for both of DiPalo's saves. Elizabeth Bishop added an attempt that went high and wide in the 109th minute as Southern sought a late winner. This was the first postseason overtime game for the Owls since 2021 where in the second round of the NE10 playoffs they advanced past Assumption, going 3-1 on Penalty kicks.

Norret, Saga Möttönen and Ryleigh Phillips converted their penalty kicks for the Owls, while Bentley converted all five of its attempts, with Abi Hennessey delivering the clinching kick.

Bentley finished with a 19-9 advantage in shots and a 7-2 edge in corner kicks. Southern generated two shots in the second overtime after the Falcons took all four attempts in the first extra period.
