Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball will host Southern New Hampshire University for the Northeast-10 Conference Championship Semifinals, presented by Visit Central Florida, at 5:30 pm on Thursday, March 5 at the James Moore Field House. The Owls are coming off a 76-39 win against Adelphi in the NE10 First Round on Sunday, March 1. The Owls have now advanced to the NE10 Semifinals for the third-straight season.

With the win against Adelphi, the Owls improved to 22-5 and advanced to the NE10 Semifinals for the third-consecutive season and ninth time overall. The Owls' 22 wins to date are its most since the 2011-12 season saw Southern win 25 games. Against the Panthers, Taeya Steinauer led the Owls with 22 points after knocking down a team-leading four three-pointers in the game. Tish Blackwood had 12 points and eight rebounds with a pair of steals and Rheyna Steinauer totaled 10 points, four rebounds and three assists. The Owls backcourt filled out the stat sheet as Hope Fox finished with nine points, eight assists, five steals and six rebounds. Jillian Martin had five points, five rebounds and seven assists while Allie Sentance came off the bench to hit all three of her three-point attempts for nine points.

The Owls and Penmen have an 11-11 series record, dating back to 2008. This season, Southern Connecticut defeated Southern New Hampshire, twice, with a 72-50 victory on Jan. 10 and a 55-47 victory on Feb. 7.
