NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Southern Connecticut State University volleyball dropped a 3-0 decision to unbeaten Mercy University on Monday night, falling 25-15, 25-17, 25-14 at Pelz Gymnasium in non-conference play.
The Owls slipped to 7-3 overall despite seven aces and six blocks. Mercy improved to 8-0, hitting .324 for the match with 46 kills.
Kerrigan Habing paced SCSU with six kills and two service aces to finish with nine points. Katie Bardak added five kills and six digs, while Sarah Stark contributed four kills and three blocks. Sydney Bennett matched Stark with three blocks and added a kill.
Kimi Mitchell led the Owls with 18 assists, two aces and eight digs. Sarah Henault had three aces and nine digs, and Alyssa Ferreira finished with nine digs and two kills on two swings.
Southern will regroup and prepare to host Molloy on Friday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. at Pelz Gym.
