For the second-straight week, Erin Sola was named the Northeast 10 Conference Runner of the Week, as announced by the NE10 on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026. Sola repeats this week after placing 11th at UMass Dartmouth -- and the top DII finisher in the heavy field. The Owls had the top three DII runners, all running in the top 35.
Sola placed 11th overall to lead SCSU to a seventh-place team finish Saturday at the UMass Dartmouth cross country course. The Owls finished with 201 points to place seventh in a 33-team field. Sola led the way for Southern Connecticut, completing the 6K in 21 minutes, 53.40 seconds. Her 11th-place finish earned 11 team points and was the top individual result for the SCSU women this fall.
Southern is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Lehigh University's Paul Short Run.
