Southern Connecticut State University volleyball standouts Kerrigan Habing and Kimberli Mitchell collected Northeast 10 Conference Weekly Awards, as announced by the NE10 on Monday, Sept. 28. Habing was named the NE10 Player of the Week while Mitchell earned her second Setter of the Week honor of the season. The duo led Southern to a 3-0 week, with sweeps against Caldwell, Adelphi and D'Youville.
Habing averaged 3.56 kills per set while hitting .333 with 32 kills. Habing had the top offensive performance of the week in the NE10 after hitting .591 against Adelphi with 14 kills against one error in 22 chances while also recording two aces and five digs. Her performance against the Panthers came after a double-double against Caldwell with 12 kills and 11 digs to go along with an ace. She finished the week with six kills and nine digs against D'Youville that the Owls had in hand early.
Mitchell led the NE10 with 10.67 assists per set after totaling 96 across nine sets. She also hit .375 for the week with 12 kills, 0 errors, in 32 total attacks. Against Caldwell, Mithcell had five kills while hitting .455 with 32 assists, an ace and six digs. Against Adelphi, she had 31 assists, four kills, one ace and three blocks while completing the double-double with 10 digs. She wrapped up the week with a 33-assist showing against D'Youville with three kills to go along with three digs and three blocks from the setter spot.
