Jon Shelton enters his second season as a member of the Owls' coaching staff in 2015 and serves as the defensive line coach.
Shelton joined the Owls after eight years as the defensive line coach at the University of New Hampshire, a perennial FCS contender. In total, he has 17 years of college coaching experience, which also includes stops at the University of Kansas, the University of Maryland, Bryant University and Montgomery Community College (Md.).

Shelton is also the developer and lead presenter of the "SMART'' program, a sexual assault prevention program aimed at educating male student-athletes. He was also selected to participate in the Bill Walsh NFL Minority Coaching Fellowship during the summer of 2014.
