Southern Connecticut State University Athletics

Dan Perusina is in his third season as an assistant men's and women's cross country and track and field coach at Southern Connecticut State. He works primarily with the distance and middle-distance groups.

Perusina graduated from Southern Connecticut in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in geography. He competed for the Owls from 2017-21 as a middle-distance runner under coach John Wallin, serving as a two-time team captain in 2019-20 and 2021 and earning Northeast 10 Academic Distinction in 2019-20.

Since joining the staff in 2023, he has helped the men's cross country team win Northeast 10 titles in 2023, 2024 and 2025 and NCAA Division II East Regional titles in 2023, 2024 and 2025, and the women's cross country team win Northeast 10 titles in 2023 and 2025 and East Regional titles in 2023 and 2025. The men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field teams have won Northeast 10 championships in 2024, 2025 and 2026.
