NEW LONDON, Conn. - Southern Connecticut State University fell to Connecticut College 214.5-79.5 in their meet on Wednesday afternoon.

Lilly Martin (Bristol, Conn.), Katherine Crochet (Waterbury, Conn.), Emily Wolfe (Havertown, Pa.) and Aubrey Bailey (El Cajon, Calif.) all had third place finishes for the Owls, and the quartet also finished third in the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 4:08.12. In addition, Haley Boland (Waterbury, Conn.) grabbed two first place diving finishes.

Boland took first in both the one and three meter dives with 210.07 and 236.47 points, respectively. Isabel Williams (Woodbury, Conn.) and Christina Verzino (Watertown, Conn.) placed second and third in both events. Williams had 198.90 points in the one meter dive and 181.54 in the three meter dive. Verzino scored 152.55 points in the one meter dive and 150.60 in the three meter dive.

Crochet finished third in both the 50 yard freestyle at 25.05 and the 100 yard freestyle at 55.44. She also placed fourth in the 200 yard freestyle at 2:02.22.

Martin placed third in both the 100 yard breaststroke at 1:12.01 and the 200 yard IM at 2:19.28. She also came in fifth in the 200 yard breaststroke at 2:38.45.

Wolfe came in third in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:18.42 and fourth in both the 100 yard freestyle at 55:44 and the 100 yard butterfly at 1:01.21.

Bailey took third in the 100 yard backstroke at 1:03.69, fifth in the 200 yard IM at 2:23.84 and sixth in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:23.36.

Jennifer Belanger (South Windsor, Conn.) placed fourth in two events, the 1000 yard freestyle relay at 10:55.29 and 500 yard freestyle at 5:24.33.

Kerstin Eckner (Oxford, Conn.) took fourth place in the 100 yard backstroke at 1:06.51 and fifth place in both the 50 yard freestyle at 27.44 and the 200 yard backstroke at 2:22.23.

The team of Belanger, Sydney Fromkin (Sharon, Mass.), Christina Lavery (West Haven, Conn.) and Katherine Krajcik (Stratford, Conn.) took fourth place in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:46.24.

Southern Connecticut's next meet is Saturday, January 16 at 12:30 p.m. when it hosts Le Moyne.
