NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore Audrey Dolloff (Raynham, Mass.) of the field hockey team and junior Brian Wilcox (Jericho, Vt.) of the football team have been named as the Connecticut Army National Guard/Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Week.
Dolloff and the Owls won their first conference game on Saturday against St. Anselm. She set a career-high at LIU-Post with 23 saves on Tuesday and added 15 saves in the win over St. Anselm. Thanks to those performances, she now has 104 saves for the year. Dolloff currently ranks No. 1 in Northeast-10 Conference and No. 3 in the NCAA in saves per game with 14.9 and is No. 5 in save percentage with a .776 mark.
Wilcox and the Owls captured a 42-20 win over St. Anselm on Friday night. He had a team-high 12 tackles along with an interception for 13 yards. Wilcox leads the Owls with 48 tackles and ranks No. 9 in the NCAA in that category through the first four games.
The Connecticut Army National Guard is serving as the title sponsor of Southern Connecticut State University’s ‘Athlete of the Week’ recognition program. Initiated in September, 2007, the ‘Athlete of the Week’ program recognizes one female and one male student-athlete each week for demonstrated excellence on the playing field.
