NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Junior Nicole Healey (Milford, Conn.) of the women’s lacrosse team and senior Greg Zullo (Branford, Conn.) of the baseball team have been named as the Chick-fil-A of North Haven/Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Week.
Healey powered the Owls to a 10-9 win at Merrimack on Saturday with a career-best six goals – including the game-winning tally with 3:11 left. She also registered a team-best six draw controls in the victory.
Zullo paced the Owls to a 5-1 week in Florida by batting .360 (9-for-25) with a team-high 10 runs batted in. He posted multiple-hit efforts in four games during the week and had three multiple RBI efforts, including four in a win over AIC. Zullo leads the NE10 with 25 RBI this season.
Chick-fil-A of North Haven, located at 560 Universal Drive, is serving as the title sponsor of Southern Connecticut State University’s ‘Athlete of the Week’ recognition program. Initiated in September, 2007, the ‘Athlete of the Week’ program recognizes one female and one male student-athlete each week for demonstrated excellence on the playing field.
