NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Seniors Shatajah Wattely (Uncasville, Conn.) of the women’s outdoor track and field team and Kyle Hart (North Branford, Conn.) of the baseball team have been named as the Chick-fil-A of North Haven/Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Week.

Wattely notched two NCAA provisional qualifying marks over the weekend at the TCNJ Lions Invitational. Her time of 54.60 in the 400 meters was good for third place, while she also ran a leg of the 4x100 relay that won that event 46.52 seconds, also a NCAA provisional qualifying time.

Hart paced the Owls’ offense in a 4-0 week, as he batted .563 (9-for-16) with six runs and a RBI. He registered a hit in every game, including three multi-hit efforts and a 4-for-4 showing in a win over Adelphi.

Chick-fil-A of North Haven, located at 560 Universal Drive, is serving as the title sponsor of Southern Connecticut State University’s ‘Athlete of the Week’ recognition program. Initiated in September, 2007, the ‘Athlete of the Week’ program recognizes one female and one male student-athlete each week for demonstrated excellence on the playing field.
