NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Shatajah Wattely (Uncasville, Conn.) of the women's outdoor track and field team and senior Yakabu Ibrahim (Somerset, N.J.) of the men's outdoor track and field team have been named as the Chick-fil-A of North Haven/Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Week.

Wattely concluded an outstanding collegiate career with All-America honors in the 200 and 400 meters at the NCAA Championships, the 17th and 18th such honors of her career. She set a new school record and placed third overall in the 400 meters (52.51 seconds) and also placed 11th in the 200 meters (23.96).

Ibrahim earned All-America honors in the 110 hurdles (14.21) and missed out on the SCSU school record by .01 in his 10th place finish at the NCAA Championships.

Chick-fil-A of North Haven, located at 560 Universal Drive, is serving as the title sponsor of Southern Connecticut State University's 'Athlete of the Week' recognition program. Initiated in September, 2007, the 'Athlete of the Week' program recognizes one female and one male student-athlete each week for demonstrated excellence on the playing field.
