NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Laura Brustolon (Mystic, Conn.) of the women’s cross country team and sophomore Germain Delage (Paris, France ) of the men’s soccer team have been named as the Comcast/Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Month for November.

Brustolon capped off the cross country campaign with a sparkling November. She placed fourth out of 178 runners at the NCAA Regionals and was awarded All-Region laurels for her efforts. Her performance also qualified her for the NCAA Championships.

She narrowly missed All-America honors at the National Championships, finishing less than three seconds shy of the honor. Brustolon placed 42nd out of 184 runners at the competition.

Delage played a key role in the success of the men’s soccer team this fall, which included the club’s 31st NCAA Tournament appearance. During the month of November, he helped the squad reach the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament final. For his efforts during the conference tournament, Delage was named to the All-Tournament Team. He also earned All-Conference and All-Region honors for his play during the regular season.

For the second consecutive year, Comcast is serving as the title sponsor of Southern Connecticut State University’s ‘Athlete of the Month’ recognition program. Initiated in September, 2007, the ‘Athlete of the Month’ program recognizes one female and one male student-athlete each month for demonstrated excellence on the playing field.
