MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team lost two matches on Saturday on the second day of the Pfeiffer University Tournament. In their first action of the day, SCSU fell to Coker 3-1 (30-22, 28-30, 30-21, 30-17). The Owls were then swept by host Pfeiffer 3-0 (30-25, 30-18, 30-22). In the first day of the tournament on Friday, SCSU split their two matches. The Owls started strong, defeating Columbia College 3-1 (30-20, 32-34, 30-13, 30-26). However, SCSU was defeated 3-0 by Fayetteville State in the nightcap (30-25, 30-16, 30-22). T
he Owls return to the court next weekend in tournament action hosted by the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. SCSU will take on American International at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 7. The Owls will then play twice on Sept. 8, as they battle Caldwell at noon and take on the hosts at 4 p.m.
