NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut volleyball standout
Sydney Bennett was named to the Northeast 10 Academic All-Conference Team for the Fall 2025 season, as announced by the NE10 on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026. This is the first NE10 Academic All-Conference honor for
Sydney Bennett in her career.
In the classroom,
Sydney Bennett recorded a 3.74 GPA, majoring in biology. She is a two-time CSC Academic All-District honoree and a five-time NE10 Academic Distinction honoree. On the court, Bennett was a force for the Owls in the 2025 season as she was named to the D2CCA All-East Region Second Team and the All-NE10 Second Team.
As a captain,
Sydney Bennett played and started in all 24 matches for Southern Connecticut. Bennett ranked sixth in the NE10 in hitting percentage with .312, ranked fifth in blocks with a total of 84, ranked eighth in kills with an average of 2.64 kills per set and is ranked seventh in points with an average of 3.30 points per set.
She led the Owls with 84 blocks and was second on the team in kills with 230. Bennett held the best attack percentage in a single match in the NE10 this season with a .786 against Caldwell. She recorded a career-best of 16 kills against Assumption and totaled a career-best of six block assists against Molloy. Additionally, Bennett was named the NE10 Conference Player of the Week on Sept. 15, 2025.
