SCSU Falls Short To Merrimack, 1-0

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The women's soccer team traveled to North Andover, Mass. for a critical conference match against No. 5 regionally ranked Merrimack College on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Owls dropped to 7-4-1, 5-3-1 in Northeast-10 competition, while the Warriors improved to 8-2-2, 6-2-1 in the league.

The Warriors scored the only goal of the game in the first four minutes of play. Kerri Domohowski scored what proved to be the game-winner for Merrimack College.

The Owls tallied more shots and corner kicks than the Warriors did, however could not find the equalizer, completing a 1-0 shutout.

Owl goalkeeper Katie DiDio (Vernon Conn.) made four saves in the losing effort, while Warrior goalkeeper, Shannon Rowan posted seven saves in the win.

The next match for the Owls is scheduled for Oct. 15 at Stonehill College. Kickoff for the conference match is set for 3:30 p.m.
