EASTON, Mass. – Three different members of the Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team each scored a goal, as the Owls went on the road and defeated Stonehill College by the final score of 3-1. With the win, the Owls improved to 8-4-1, 6-3-1 in Northeast-10 competition, while the Skyhawks dropped to 4-9-1, 3-6-1 in the league.
Hailey Huntington (Wallingford, Conn.) scored the first goal of the game in the 10th minute of action, when she intercepted the Skyhawk goal kick and beat the keeper for an early 1-0 lead. Just three minutes later,
Jenna Mallico (Milford, Conn.) drew a foul inside the 18-yard box for a penalty kick.
Nicole Burton (Warwick, N.Y.) put away the shot for a 2-0 SCSU lead.
Katrina Cook (Westtown, N.Y.) provided some insurance for the Owls, when she connected on a cross from Huntington from just inside the 18-yard box. The Skyhawks would add one goal but would not be enough as SCSU went on for the 3-1 victory in Easton, Mass.

Katie DiDio (Vernon Conn.) made six saves in her eighth win of the season for the Owls. Skyhawk goalkeeper, Marissa Bramwell tallied one save in the losing effort.
On Oct. 18 the Owls will challenge St. Michael's College on SCSU's Senior Night for a Northeast-10 Conference showdown. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m at Jess Dow Field.
