RINDGE, N.H. – The Southern Connecticut State University traveled up to Rindge, N.H. for the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament quarterfinals, in search for the first victory of three needed for a trip to the NCAA Tournament. Their journey fell short as the team suffered a heartbreaking, 2-1 loss in overtime to the No. 3 seed Franklin Pierce on Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Owls concluded their season with an overall record of 6-7-5, while the Ravens improved to 12-7-1 and will head to the semifinals on Nov. 6.
The Owls opened the scoring with a goal in the 55th minute of action, when freshman
Ian Serrao (Glastonbury, Conn.) crossed a ball from the left side that found
Djordje Jankovic (Sabac, Serbia). Jankovic took a shot that found the inside of the right post for his second goal of the season and a 1-0 Owl lead.
