WALTHAM, Mass. – The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball had a daunting task ahead of them as they traveled to Dana Center in Waltham, Mass. to challenge undefeated No. 1 Bentley on Tuesday night. Despite 13 points from senior forward Ktrice McNeill (Bronx, N.Y.) in his collegiate swan song, the Owls were overmatched by the Falcons, who took the victory by a score of 95-64.

After the Owls started the game leading 5-3, courtesy of five points from junior guard Derrick Corbett (New Haven, Conn.), Bentley kicked off a 16-0 run over the next 6:41 to take a commanding 19-5 lead. While the Falcons wouldn't go on an extended run for the remainder of the half, they remained consistent and entered the intermission leading 53-31. Corbett led the Owls scoring in the first half with 10 points. Bentley's Lew Finnegan led all scorers in the opening stanza with 17 points, including 3-for-6 shooting from three-point range. As a team, the Falcons shot 7-for-12 (58.3%) from behind the arc in the first half. The Owls shot 3-for-7 (42.9%) from three-point range, with Corbett leading the charge at a perfect 2-for-2 from long distance.

The second half was more of the same from Bentley. The top-ranked team in all of Division II never looked back and, when the final horn sounded, the Falcons took the victory 95-64.

Corbett finished with 10 points and junior guard Justin Gardenhire (Rosedale, N.Y.) netted 11 to join McNeill in double figures. Senior forward Devon Sullivan (Jamaica, N.Y.) scored eight points and pulled down four rebounds in his collegiate finale. Sullivan's 515 career rebounds slot him at 11th all time in program history.

McNeill season field goal percentage of 64.3% and his career mark of 60.7% both marked bests in Southern Connecticut men's basketball history.

Finnegan and Jason Westrol led all scorers with 19 points for the undefeated Falcons.
