OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's volleyball team started their season off strong after beating New York Institute of Technology and Bloomfield College in Old Westbury, N.Y. SCSU took a large lead in the first game and never looked back, winning by the score of 25-20.

The second game went back and forth throughout. A kill by junior Sarah Houseknecht (Olean, N.Y.) gave SCSU a three point lead late in the game and they would go on to win by that margin with a score of 25-22.

Jenna Tammel led the Owls in the third and final game. They took an early 16-5 lead and gave Bloomfield no chance to comeback, winning 25-19.

A great start to the 2008 season for the Owls as they begin with a 2-0 record.
