Box Score
ALBANY, N.Y. – SCSU went on the road to the College of Saint Rose and came away with a 2-0 victory on Wednesday night in their second conference match of the season. With their third win in a row, the Owls improve to (3-2) while the Golden Knights fall to (1-3).
The Owls scored the games first goal in the 52nd minute of action when
Patrick Carroll (Guilford, Conn.) found
Marino Crocco (North Haven, Conn.) on the far post for his first goal of the season, giving SCSU a 1-0 lead.
In the 58th minute, just six minutes after the first goal, sophomore
Aazin Langroudi (Hamden, Conn.) took a shot that deflected off the post and into the back of the net for his first goal of the season. This 2-0 advantage would be all that the SCSU defense needed, completing its second shutout of the season.
Andrew Esposito (East Haven, Conn.) made eight saves for his first road win of the season. Patrik Ohlsson tallied three saves in the losing effort for Saint Rose.
Southern looks for its fourth win in a row on Sept. 13 against the University of Massachusetts Lowell at Jess Dow Field. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
