Men’s Soccer Ties Franklin Pierce In Double Overtime

Germain Delage and the Owls battled Franklin Pierce to a 0-0 draw in double overtime on Saturday night.

RINDGE, N.H. – SCSU traveled up north to Rindge, N.H. for a conference match against Franklin Pierce on Saturday night, where Coach Tom Lang was in search for career win number 300. However, the Owls could not capture this feat quite yet, battling the Ravens to a 0-0 draw. With the tie the Owls go to (3-3-2), while the Raven's record goes to (3-4-1).

In this very evenly played match, neither team could score to break the deadlock. Each team tallied nine shots in the game.

Andrew Esposito (East Haven, Conn.) made six saves in the game, while Vinny Papageorgiou tallied three saves in the draw for Franklin Pierce.

SCSU will travel to Syracuse, N.Y. for its next match on Sept. 23 to face Le Moyne College. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
