SYRACUSE, N.Y. – SCSU went on the road to Syracuse, N.Y. to face No. 5 regionally ranked Le Moyne College for a conference match on Wednesday afternoon at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex. The final score of the contest was 2-0, which improved the Dolphins to 5-2-2, while the Owls dropped to 3-4-2.

Le Moyne scored both their goals in the first half of action. In the 23rd minute of play, Dolphin goalkeeper Steve White punted the ball onto Southern's half of the field, where Angelo Reina collected the ball and placed a shot over the head of Andrew Esposito (East Haven, Conn.) giving Le Moyne a 1-0 lead.  

Just four minutes later, Bryce Martin scored another goal for the Dolphins, making it a 2-0 lead. Neither team could find the back of the net in the second half, completing a 2-0 shutout for Le Moyne.

Esposito tallied three saves in the losing effort for the Owls.

The Owls are back in action on Sept. 27 for a conference at Jess Dow Field against the Falcons from Bentley College. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
