Volleyball Falls to Alderson Broaddus (3-0) and Lock Haven (3-0)

The Owls return home on Tuesday to face Nyack.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team's winning streak comes to an end Saturday as they lose to Alderson Broaddus, 3-0 and Lock Haven, 3-0. Freshman Andrea Nolan (Ridgefield, N.J.) had 71 total assists in the tournament.

The Owls are now 7-3 on the season. Alderson Broaddus is 2-5 and Lock Haven is 8-0.

SCSU had won five games in a row prior to their loss against Alderson Broaddus. Nolan had a team-high 15 assists and junior Marcia Hollingsworth (Alexandria, Va.) added a team-high five kills for the Owls.

The Owls began their second matchup the same way they ended their first and lost to Lock Haven, 3-0. Junior Manjit Chase (Alexandria, Va.) led the Owls with 11 assists and junior Sarah Houseknecht (Olean, N.Y.) was a force at net, accounting for four total blocks.

SCSU finished 2-2 in the Lock Haven tournament.

The Owls look to start a new win streak when they return home on Tuesday September 7 against Nyack. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
