NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team fell to Northeast-10 opponent Southern New Hampshire at Moore Field House on Thursday night by the score of 66-50. The Owls have dropped to 1-12 overall and 0-10 in the conference. Southern New Hampshire improved to 8-5 overall and 4-5 in the NE-10.

Southern New Hampshire opened the game on a 5-0 run and never looked back as Marcus Mathews dropped a three and hit a layup to give the Penman the momentum. They led by as much as 11 in the first half but a layup by junior Derrick Corbett (New Haven, Conn.) with .40 seconds remaining cut the lead to seven as they headed into halftime trailing 36-29.

The second half looked much like the first as the Owls weren't able to gain any momentum. Stephen Wood dropped 10 of his 12 points in the final twenty minutes of regulation to help the Penman pull away with a 66-50 victory.

Jones was one rebound shy of a double-double. Mazzarella grabbed seven boards and led the team in assists with three. Junior guard Trevor Harris (Nanuet, N.Y.) hit two threes and tallied eight points for the Owls.
