Balanced Effort For Men’s Swimming Against TCNJ

Austin Mizzell had a hand in two wins against The College of New Jersey.

EWING, N.J. – Four members of the Southern Connecticut University men's swimming and diving team – sophomores Austin Mizzell (Bristol, Conn.), Miguel Nesrala (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) and Matthew Sorena (Brookfield, Conn.) and freshman Alan Dickey (Waterbury, Conn.) – each had a hand in a pair of wins for the Owls in their 164.5-121.5 loss to The College of New Jersey on Saturday afternoon. 

Dickey was the team's lone dual event individual winner, as he captured first place in both the one-meter (293.65) and three-meter (365.4) events. 

Sorena won the 1,000 freestyle in a time of 9:59.65. Mizzell claimed the 200 breaststroke in 2:08.65. Nesrala won the 100 freestyle in 47.51. 

Sorena, Mizzell, Nesrala and Thomas Hardy (Massapequa, N.Y.) teamed up to win the 400 freestyle relay in a time of 3:22.68. 

Southern Connecticut returns to action on Nov. 21 for a road meet at Yale.
