NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team fell to Northeast-10 opponent AIC, 3-0 on Tuesday night at Pelz Gym. Sophomore
Megan Lyons (Cold Springs, N.Y.) tallied a team-high 11 kills in the loss as Southern is now 13-3 overall and 2-3 in the conference. AIC is now 9-5 overall and 2-4 in the NE-10.
The Yellow Jackets won by the scores of 25-22, 26-24 and 25-18.
Southern's offense was led by sophomore
Andrea Nolan (Ridgefield, N.J.) as she dished out a team-high 21 assists. Senior
Jenna Tammel (Spring Valley, Minn.) and freshman
Vanessa Sullivan (Paramus, N.J.) registered 18 and 11 digs respectively.
Ellisha Terry notched a game-high 21 kills and Kervelle Redhead recorded 37 assists to lead the Yellow Jackets.
The Owls return to action on Friday, Oct. 2 as they travel to Southern New Hampshire for a road contest at 7 p.m.
