FLUSHING, N.Y. – Six members of the Southern Connecticut State University men's swimming and diving team collected first place showings, as the Owls cruised past Queens College on Tuesday afternoon at Lott Natatorium. The final score of the competition was 122-103.
Junior
Michael DiVerniero (East Haven, Conn.) and sophomores
Tim Steiskal (Naugatuck, Conn.),
Miguel Nesrala (Santo Domingo, D.R.),
Jacob Butkus (Trumbull, Conn.) and
Matthew Sorena (Brookfield, Conn.) each tallied victories in the win for the Owls.
Graduate student
Ryan Cutler (Mystic, Conn.) also captured a first place finish in the one-meter diving event.
The Owls return to action on Feb. 5 when the squad hosts the Northeast-10 Conference Championships. The event will begin at 4 p.m. at the Hutchinson Natatorium.
