NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Three members of the Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team scored double-digit points on Wednesday night, however the Owls dropped a Northeast-10 Conference game to Stonehill by the score of 70-55. Freshman guard
Tobin Carberry (Hamden, Conn.) notched a team-high 20 points on 7-for-15 shooting for the Owls.
Southern is now 2-11 overall and 1-7 in the Northeast-10. Stonehill improved to 10-3 with the win and 7-1 in the conference.
The Skyhawks controlled the first half of play as they shot a blistering 57% from the floor on 16-of-28 shooting. A.J. Rudowitz led all scorers with 13 points at the break as Stonehill took a 37-20 lead heading into halftime. Carberry led the Owls with 10 points and went 2-for-2 from behind the arc.
The second half was a different story as both teams exchanged baskets throughout the course of the half. Despite outscoring the Skyhawks 35-33 in the final twenty minutes, the halftime deficit was too much for the Owls to overcome as Stonehill pulled away in the final minute and a half.

Clyde Chapman (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and
Dexton Williamson (Bridgeport, Conn.) each tallied double-digit scoring figures. Chapman dropped 13 and Williamson recorded 10 and added six rebounds as well. Junior
Lance Long (New Haven, Conn.) dished out a team-high five assists and senior
John Mazzarella (Wallingford, Conn.) grabbed seven rebounds.
The Owls return to action this Saturday to face Bentley in a Northeast-10 road game scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
