LOWELL, Mass. - Junior Cedric Panzu (Mons-En-Baroeul, France) netted the game-tying goal with just 2:17 remaining in regulation to help the Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team force a 1-1 draw with UMass-Lowell on Sunday afternoon.
The Owls are now 10-2-1, 7-2-1 in Northeast-10 Conference play. UML is 1-10-2, 0-8-2.
The game was scoreless into the 71st minute, but the hosts finally struck first on a goal from Stephen Potcner.
The Owls rallied though when Panzu scored to even the match. Matan Bik (Hamden, Conn.) and Jeremy Tavares (Waterbury, Conn.) assisted on the goal.
SCSU held a 16-11 edge in shots for the game.
Andrew Esposito (East Haven, Conn.) finished with one save for the Owls.
SCSU is back in action on Oct. 20 in a 7 p.m. start against AIC.
