RIDGE, N.H. - The Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to No. 11 Franklin Pierce in a Northeast-10 Conference game Saturday night. With the win Franklin Pierce improved to 7-1 on the season, and 5-0 in the NE-10, while the Owls drop to 7-2 on the year, 5-2 in the NE-10.
Following 49:45 of scoreless soccer, Amory Houghton received a cross pass in front of the net from Paul Latif, and jumped and kneed in the lone goal of the game to put Franklin Pierce ahead, 1-0.
Ravens goaltender Vinny Papagourgiou made three saves to record a shutout in the win.
Junior goalkeeper
Andrew Esposito (East Haven, Conn.) made three saves for SCSU.
The Owls recorded two shots on goal in the second half, but were unable to score the equalizer.
SCSU returns to action when they host inner-state rival Bridgeport on Wednesday night.
