NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. - Goalie Olivia Heffernan (Wallingford, Conn.) stopped six shots, but the No. 22 nationally ranked Merrimack College women's soccer team recorded a 1-0 win over Southern Connecticut on Saturday in a Northeast-10 Conference game.

The Owls are now 8-5-3, 6-5-3 in NE-10 play. Merrimack is 11-4-2, 10-3-1.

The only goal of the contest was tallied by Jenn Pino late in the first half.

Merrimack held a 15-10 advantage in shots for the game. 

SCSU is back in action on Wednesday for a game at No. 1 nationally ranked St. Rose.
